Xargs

Options

-I replace-str
Replace occurrences of replace-str in the initial-arguments with names read from standard input. Also, unquoted blanks do not terminate input items; instead the separator is then newline character. Implies -x and -L 1.

Example

$ cat text
/bin/bash /tmp/test.py
/bin/bash /tmp/test1.py
$ awk '{print $2}' text|xargs -I {} ls {}
/tmp/test.py
/tmp/test1.py
